She wrote her name on paper,

and painted it on the ground.

any space she could find,

the letters were all around.

Many would ask her,

about the obsession with her name.

she didn’t know how to tell them,

it was her way of staking a claim.

She was just afraid,

that every time she left a mark.

someone behind her with an eraser,

would always keep her in the dark.

That was common, after all,

with women in STEM.

men taking credit for their work,

was something to condemn.
